Registering for International Orientation
This article explains how to register for the mandatory international orientation.
Remember, this orientation is required by immigration. There may be other required orientations held by your academic department or college. This does not replace those.
Who needs to register for orientation?
All students on an F-1 or J-1 visa must complete the international orientation.
Why is this mandatory?
The Federal government requires that certain information is provided to all person on an F-1 or J-1 visa. This includes important information about compliance responsibilities, reporting requirements, employment authorization, and general information about safety and support.
How do I register for orientation?
follow the steps below to register for international orientation.
Step One: Log into iVols
Log into your iVols portal following the instructions linked.. Select the Orientation and Immigration Check-In Checklist at the bottom of the page.
Step Two: Select the Orientation Registration E-Form
Select the Orientation Registration E-Form from the list of available E-Forms.
Step Three: Select the Semester of your Admission
Select the semester you are admitted to UT for. This will show you all of the available orientation dates. Please note, summer admits will participate in the fall orientation.
Step Four: Select your Orientation Date and Confirm
Select the date you will attend orientation. Then, enter the date in Month/Day/Year format as a final confirmation. Submit the form to finalize your registration.
